The milk is sex. No one wants a cow (the relationship), because cows are way too much responsibility. But everyone wants milk! Milk is awesome. No one ever turns down milk.
This analogy assumes that men are the only ones who enjoy sex. It also has to do with running across too many jerks who lead women on, meaning, we ladies assume sex is a committal step in the relationship and sometimes men don't see it that way.

There's no set amount of time to wait...I think the timing is more related to what objectives both people have in the relationship, how willing they both are to take a risk, and how well they understand what's going on in the other person's mind, combined with their previous experiences (baggage!).

Riggs- this used to be Lorien and my fave Saturday afternoon movie. Of course, getting the milk for free in this case was about living together and not getting married. But it's still pretty similar.

So, I totally don't get the "buying the cow/free milk" thing. Someone please explain :)

And how long is the amount of time you wait? Does it have to be a set time, or is it just until "it feels right"? I can see the argument both ways.

7. We like you, but it hasn't been that long, so we're not sure how you feel yet about this going anywhere. And its way too soon for "the talk". So we are going to be super bummed & feel very rejected if after we sleep with you, you dissapear into the night never to be heard from again. As is your right after only a couple of dates. Well, not the 'into the night' part, thats just in poor taste, at least wait until the next morning.

8. We've had it ground into our heads that we're supposed to make you wait, I think a lot for said reason above. And the whole buying the cow/free milk thing.
